The aviation industry must face up to its ecological responsibility, and it is this responsibility which is of the utmost importance to us. This is why all Fraport AG Group companies have committed themselves to a sustainable, caring and preventative approach to the use of natural resources and the environment, and to a continuous improvement in environmental performance.
For example, Fraport’s operation will be completely carbon-neutral by 2045, for which it will forego any right to compensation and it will reduce Frankfurt Airport’s CO2 emissions to 50,000 tonnes per year by 2030. This is why they will be relying heavily on renewable electricity from wind power provided by the utility company EnBW in future.
Frankfurt Airport already has its own photovoltaic systems and produces 1.6 million kWh of solar power every year
