Building the Future

Frankfurt Airport is growing; the new Terminal 3 opened in April of this year. In the coming years, major construction projects will also be launched under the motto “Building the Future.” Ultimately, Frankfurt Airport aims to remain what it is: one of the world’s best-connected hubs and a highly attractive hub for airlines and passengers.

Terminal 1

Central areas of Terminal 1 will be completely redesigned in the coming years. As part of "Transforming Terminal 1", the most modern check-in counters and security checkpoints will be installed and ensure fast processes. This will make travel from FRA even faster and more convenient.

Terminal 3

Up to 19 million passengers per year—this will be possible with the opening of three piers (Piers G, H, and J) featuring approximately 33 gates. Terminal 3 is state-of-the-art and offers passengers an optimal infrastructure for seamless operations. In addition, the new SkyLine connects the airport’s terminals and takes passengers from Terminal 1 to Terminal 3 in 8 minutes.
